Mr. Shreelal Pokharel
Field Coordinator - SAHAS ProjectMr. Shreelal Pokharel has been working as the Field Coordinator for the Promoting Economic and Social Conditions of People with Disabilities in the Madhesh Province of Nepal (SAHAS) Project at Samriddha Nepal since March 2025.
Mr. Pokharel has over 15 years of professional experience working with various NGOs and INGOs. He is a recognized expert in disaster risk reduction and management, with specialized proficiency in Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) and School-Based Disaster Risk Management (SBDRM). His career highlights include designing and delivering capacity-building trainings, developing DRR and VCA/PDRA guidelines, Disaster Readiness Measurement Tools, Community and Household Response Plans, conducting simulations, and crafting comprehensive response strategies. Mr. Pokharel has been instrumental in formulating policy-level documents such as District and Provincial Disaster Preparedness and Response Plans (DPRPs) and Strategic Action Plans across all tiers of governance. He has also led the development and review of Local Disaster and Climate Resilience Plans (LDCRPs) in several municipalities.
As a Project certified development professional, he possesses strong skills in budget management, staff mobilization, and inter-agency coordination. His involvement in Forecast-Based Action and knowledge of Cash and Voucher Assistance reflect his deep commitment to fostering community-centered and proactive resilience approaches.
